What will you learn?

During the All-round Beauty Specialist training, you'll learn everything you need to become a good beauty specialist, plus a little extra. We'll also teach you specialized treatments, making you even more capable of performing skin improvements than a regular beauty specialist.

You'll learn how to perform cosmetic hand, foot, and nail treatments, as well as facials and body treatments. You'll also focus on different skin types, allergies, and appropriate skincare products. As a full-service beauty specialist, you'll also learn all about specialized treatments such as Shiatsu, connective tissue, acne treatments, and complementary treatments like aromatherapy.

What does the training look like?
Your first year
In the first year, you'll attend school four days a week and complete an internship one day a week. In class, you'll learn how to perform various cosmetic hand, nail, foot, facial, and body treatments. We'll also teach you about skin types, how to develop a treatment plan, and how to best serve clients. Furthermore, in the first year, you'll learn more about sales techniques, customer-focused communication, and how to build relationships with clients.

You'll also receive lessons in how to start your own business. We'll teach you how to write a business plan and how to present yourself effectively. During the program, you'll complete an internship so you know exactly what it's like in practice and are ready for the real world after graduating!

Subjects and electives
During the program, you'll primarily receive practical training. During these lessons, you'll learn about the beauty specialist profession and apply it creatively. This way, you'll learn the latest trends and techniques that you can put into practice right away. You'll sometimes complete assignments independently and sometimes in groups. This way, you'll learn to work well together and be personally responsible for the quality of your work. That's the only way to learn the trade best!

In addition to the profession-specific subjects, you'll also take generic courses such as Dutch, English, math, and career & citizenship. You'll also have the opportunity to specialize during the program through electives. Electives include image styling, nail styling, and makeup.

A significant part of the program consists of practical training. You'll then apply all the knowledge and skills you've learned at school in practice. You'll be supervised by a practical trainer from the institution and a teacher from the school. You'll complete an internship at a beauty salon, beauty center, or wellness institute. If you register now, you'll receive an invitation to an intake afternoon. During this afternoon, you can meet our instructors and future classmates. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
At our Hair & Beauty school salon, we welcome models by appointment throughout the academic year for beauty treatments performed by our students. You'll be guided through the process by our instructors.
Every year, we organize Beauty Week in the week before the Christmas holidays. Students give beauty treatments to clients by appointment. The proceeds from the treatments go to charity.
