During the E-commerce Specialist program, you'll learn all about online sales and online marketing. You'll design your own (online) marketing materials and understand which channels are best to use to boost product and service sales. E-commerce, or online sales, is an essential part of today's market. As an E-commerce Manager, you're responsible for your company's online sales and visibility. You'll be involved in social media campaigns, analyzing website data, and ensuring Google visibility. Webcare and designing engaging media materials like blogs, vlogs, and infographics are also part of your daily work.
Practical work is key. This means you'll be carrying out real-world assignments at companies. Your classroom will sometimes be located at a company. You'll also complete an internship during the program. You'll do this two days a week, with classes on the other days.
The first year
In the first year, you'll learn the basics of the digital customer journey. We do this through themes. Every 10-week period, you'll work on a different theme from the customer journey. Themes you'll explore in the first year include:
- Executing a business case: who are my customers and what is the situation within a company in the field of e-commerce, for example the webshop and online marketing?
- Search Engine Marketing: How do I ensure my website appears high in search results?
- Social media & webcare: how can I attract and retain customers using the right media and channels?
- Data & Conversion: How can I use data from Google Analytics and the webshop to ensure that customers receive even better digital service?
To master all the topics, you'll take theory classes on topics such as e-commerce, online marketing, and conversion optimization. We'll also train you in creating a webshop with WordPress, teach you how to write effective content, develop appropriate images, and learn more about working with Google Analytics.
This also includes general subjects, such as Dutch, English, math, and career & citizenship.
So, become a professional in online sales and, after completing your training, start working for a large online store or start your own!

After your education
After completing your vocational (BOL) program, you can move on to higher professional education (HBO) or start working! You can work for all kinds of companies, because online is the future! You'll be focused on business results every day, researching and analyzing where improvements can be made. As an E-Commerce Manager, you're able to work independently but also function well within a team. You're a good conversationalist, have commercial acumen, and are customer-focused. That's why you'll often be out visiting customers and prospects with your sales colleagues. All in all, you're a real go-getter with an eye for detail!

BOL stands for Vocational Training Pathway. You'll attend school five days a week, interacting extensively with fellow students and teachers. During your studies, you'll complete a period of internship, gaining extensive experience in a company or institution. This way, we prepare you well for your future career.

BBL stands for "Vocational Training Pathway." You'll work at a company or institution for at least three days a week. You'll attend school one or two days or evenings a week. This way, you'll learn primarily through practical experience. You'll often already be earning a salary. Throughout the program, you'll be supervised by our instructors and a workplace trainer from your company.
It's crucial to secure an internship at an accredited training company or institution right from the start of your training. Only then will you be able to successfully complete the program.
